Caffè Lungo is coffee brewed on an espresso machine. The recipe stems from the original espresso, but the brewing process is longer, approximately 50 - 70 ml coffee is brewed into the cup. The result is a more diluted drink than the espresso and the strength is more like the Swedish brewed coffee.

The starting point is to let the brewing continue longer than when brewing espresso, which gives a brewing time of about 40-60 seconds if no other parameters are adjusted. By reducing the dosage of coffee powder or packing the coffee powder looser, you can increase the flow and reduce the brewing time.

A normal Swedish adaptation of the recipe is to brew with a double filter and use double the amount of coffee and brew approximately 120 - 150 ml coffee. The cappuccino cup is suitable for this.

To brew an espresso, you need an espresso machine and a grinder.
