Frappé

This cooling coffee drink, which was invented in 1957, comes from Greece. You can order it in basically every Greek café. In the original drink, you shake coffee, water and sugar to create a foam-covered ice latte which you then top with a few ice cubes and a straw. The drink has undergone several changes over the years. The most common adjustment is that people use milk instead of water for a fuller taste. People also use ice cream for an even fuller version of the drink.

DA VINCI FRAPPÉ

This great frappé powder from Da Vinci is very easy to mix together. You get a frappé in a minute by adding milk, espresso and ice in a blender together with Da Vinci Frappé. Use a syrup or sauce for a more luxurious drink. Unlike the original recipe, we recommend that you crush the ice and mix the Da Vinci Frappé with milk, but water is absolutely fine as well. The crushing of the ice gives the drink a wonderful consistency and a fuller taste. It’s a matter of taste if you should have coarsely or finely crushed ice. Some people prefer bigger pieces and others want the frappé to be smooth.

RECIPES

The following recipe gives a drink of approximately 3 dl. Start by putting all ingredients in a blender. Then mix everything together until the ice is crushed. Pour into a high glass and garnish with toppings if you like and finish off by adding a straw.
